FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

At Orange Plastics, we make plastic products in a way we can be proud of: smart, sustainable, and collaborative. Below you'll find answers to frequently asked questions about what we do, how we work, and what we stand for.

General

We develop and manufacture plastic parts using injection molding. We collaborate with you from the initial idea, from sketch to finished product. And always with an eye for sustainability, efficiency, and quality.

Our customers come from a wide range of sectors: from consumer products to construction, agriculture, mobility, healthcare, and recreation. It’s precisely this diversity that keeps us sharp and creative.

We manufacture in Breukelen, Nieuwersluis, and China. This allows us to respond quickly, both locally and internationally, depending on your requirements regarding delivery time, volumes, and costs.

Sustainability & Social Impact

Sustainability isn’t a separate issue for us; it’s in everything we do. We use recycled of biobased plastics wherever possible, optimize designs to prevent waste, and recycle residual materials in-house. We also actively contribute to circular business models.

We believe: the smarter the design, the less impact on the environment.

Yes. For assembly and post-processing, we collaborate with Kansis, a sheltered workshop where people distanced from the labor market contribute meaningfully to our production. This conscious choice perfectly aligns with our core business philosophy: people-focused and socially engaged.

Product development

Absolutely. We’ll help you from the very first step. Think 3D design, material selection, prototyping, and advice on feasibility. No complicated process, just clear communication and short lines of communication.

Yes, we create rapid models using methods like 3D printing or soft tooling. This allows you to make your idea tangible before investing in a mold.

We’ll then work together to determine if the mold is suitable for our machines. We can modify or overhaul it if necessary. After that, we’ll take over production.

Injection molding

We produce from approximately 1,000 pieces. This is what we call “small series.” Below this quantity, injection molding is often not cost-effective, but if necessary, we are happy to explore creative solutions.

We inject virtually all thermoplastics: PP, ABS, PA, PE, TPE, and more. In the Netherlands, we work almost exclusively with recycled materials. This is a conscious choice that aligns with our vision of circular and future-proof production. We are also increasingly using bioplastics. We work with you to find the best technical and sustainable solution.

Yes, you can choose from existing colors or have a custom color mixed. Transparent or UV-resistant materials are also available.

Molds

Absolutely. We design, build, and maintain molds in collaboration with reliable partners at home and abroad. This guarantees quality and competitive delivery times.

The mold remains yours, unless we make other arrangements. We store it securely and maintain it for your long-term use.

Assembly & Packaging

Yes. And we’re consciously doing this in collaboration with Kansis, a sheltered workshop. There, people with limited access to the labor market ensure precise assembly, mounting, and packaging. Great work in a great location, with impact.

Yes, we help you think about packaging, branding, and even logistics. Whether you need retail packaging or bulk packaging for further transport.

Logistics & Delivery time

We typically estimate prototype production time to be 1 to 3 weeks. Mold development and initial production runs typically take 6 to 12 weeks. We can often deliver repeat orders within a few weeks.

Important: These delivery times only begin after we’ve jointly approved the technical files. This way, we can be sure everything is correct before we start production.

Yes. We ship worldwide from the Netherlands or directly from our location in China, whichever is most efficient for you.

Costs & Quotes

That depends on the design, material, quantities, and finish. But we always work with you to make it as efficient as possible. Our approach is: make smart choices, avoid unnecessary costs.

You’re welcome. Send us your drawing or sketch, or just give us a call. We’ll work with you and make sure you quickly know where you stand.

Other

Yes, we actually enjoy meeting you in person. Our office on the Vecht River is an inspiring location where we’re happy to show you what we do and how we do it.
