The time of fiber optics has arrived. Fiber optic cables are being installed in every new residential area, office location and other places where internet and telecommunications are required. Existing neighborhoods that do not yet have fiber optic connections are also being rapidly provided with fiber optic connections. To be able to do this, the fiber optic cables must be able to be cut to different thicknesses.
Easyclick fiber products B.V. has designed the ideal fiber optic cable cutting tool in collaboration with Orange Plastics. The plastic handles are made of PP in four different sizes 10,12,14 and 16mm. The products are arranged 1+1+1+1 in the mold, which means that there are four cavities, each with its own dimensions. So with one shot you get four different sizes, handy for making sets!
The plastic handles must then be fitted with a stainless steel blade that is secured by means of a starlock. This treatment is carried out at the Kansis social workshop, with which Orange Plastics has a close partnership and where it even houses part of its own plastic injection moulding production. A special assembly tool has been developed to secure the blades, which the employees of the social workshop can use easily.
The gentlemen from Easyclick Fiber Products then came up with a beautiful packaging for it. In collaboration with Orange Plastics, this was transformed from an idea to a feasible implementation. The assembly in particular proved to be a challenge, but by using our network we arrived at a nice and workable solution.
