Floating Solar floating solar panels in water basins
By 2023, the Netherlands had set a target of ensuring that 16% of all energy used in the Netherlands came from sustainable energy. Orange Plastics had the ambition to contribute to this and take on more sustainability projects. The floating solar panel project in water basins perfectly matched this ambition.
You may have seen them before, floating solar panels in water basins. Floating Solar develops solar panel islands that rotate with the sun using winches. Optimal Solar Tracking ensures that the solar panel island constantly drifts with the sun for maximum energy yield.
Orange Plastics helped by manufacturing the molds for the frame components on which the solar panels rest, and of course also provides the production thereof. Orange Plastics also made the end caps for the floats. The frame components are made of KIWA-certified materials, which means the islands can also be placed in groundwater basins.

There are now islands scattered across Europe. This is how Orange Plastics contributes to a sustainable future.
